How do I know if I need therapy?

  • If you feel stuck, hopeless, frustrated, anxious, afraid, alone, confused or need a safe place to share your thoughts, you may benefit from therapy. You do not need to have a diagnosed mood disorder to participate in or benefit from therapy.

What if I don’t feel a connection with my therapist?

  • The therapist-client relationship is crucial to an open conversation which will allow for you to make the most meaningful progress. Therapists understand if you feel that there may be a better match for you.

How long will I be in therapy?

  • No two clients are the same and therefore the amount of time you will be in therapy is not known. Generally, therapy typically occurs for a minimum of three months.

What is my role in therapy?

  • Your role in therapy is to share and participate to a degree with which you are comfortable. Keep in mind that your therapist’s role is to reflect and offer insight into what you share. Without your participation, progress will be difficult.

How does insurance work?

  • I participate in many insurance networks (see “Insurance Information”). I work with an insurance specialist who will process your benefits and provide you with a benefit summary so that you are aware of your financial responsibility. We do our best to obtain the most accurate information, but you are strongly encouraged to be sure of your financial responsibility by consulting directly with your insurance company as that is ultimately your responsibility.

What do you need from me?

  • Once we agree to move forward with scheduling a session, you will receive an email with an invitation to complete your profile in our client portal. Among other documents, you will need to sign a HIPAA form, complete a simple demographic information questionnaire, sign consent to teletherapy (if applicable), complete permission to communicate with other support people or professionals (if applicable), financial policy, cancellation policy and credit card authorization form.

What form of payments are accepted?

  • All clients are required to maintain a valid credit or debit card on file for payments or copayments.

Do you offer Teletherapy?

  • Yes! Due to the COVID pandemic, all sessions at this time are held via Teletherapy using a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. I look forward to welcoming clients back to my office in the near future.
